Evidence note: CDC recommends the term post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (PTLDS) for prolonged symptoms after appropriate Lyme treatment. Persistent symptoms are real and deserve evaluation, but additional prolonged antibiotics are unlikely to help most patients and can cause harm.
