    Mercury amalgam fillings are euphemistically called “silver fillings”. Although silver may be part of a dental amalgam filling, about 43-54% consists of mercury. Tin, copper, and zinc usually are the other metals in a dental amalgam.

    Because mercury is a toxic metal it needs to be removed carefully by a dentist who has experience and the proper equipment.

    Unfortunately, we cannot rely on the mainstream dental organizations to provide us with correct information on this topic.

    I recommend toothpaste without fluoride. All toothpaste in regular grocery stores contains fluoride. I advise against using dental fluoride treatments and drinking fluoridated water.
