Swine Flu H1N1 Live Virus Nasal Mist Dangers

A colleague sent the following message on December 4, 2009:

Dear Friends:

FYI:  I work with another RN who was advised to take the H1N1 live virus nasal mist with about 10 other RNs at KU Med Center in Kansas City. At the time they were told it had not been fully tested, but “they” didn’t have any problems with it. When she used the spray, she said it felt like a burning sensation that went all the way into her brain.

Every nurse that took the nasal spray became very ill for at least a week. She said she was even vomiting blood.  None of the nurses that took the injection got sick.  She also said that one sheds the live virus for about 21 days, “but they said it wouldn’t hurt anyone except the immune compromised as long as you are careful.

So which 3rd world country will it be dumped on this time? My daughter said that Ukraine shut down all the schools for a time because of this flu, and there have been kids out where she substitute teaches in Warsaw (and where my grandsons go to school) with H1N1, but still they have not personally had any problem with it.
